👋 Hello World!

Hello! My name is Gianluca Bottiglieri (/‘dʒanˈluːka ‘bottiʎˈʎɛri/): welcome to 🍋 Chinotto, my blog!

I am currently in my final year of a BSc. in Computer Science at the University of Genoa. My main academic interest is on performance and optimization, especially for what concerns machine learning and distributed systems. I am presently in the process of applying to interesting MSc in Computer Science programs across Europe to continue this exciting journey (so far, the one offered by TU Delft is my first choice)!

Since the day I graduated high school, I have been working in my family business: slowly, my role evolved from helping integrate and adopt modern IT and Industry 4.0 standards to managing the company’s IT technicians team. Right now, I’m slowly leaving behind the company to seek my own challenges in graduate school.

I consider myself both a hacker and an explorer: I love brainstorming, stress-testing ideas and bringing thoughts to life through hands-on experimentation. When I’m not writing code, you might find me engaged with 3D design and printing, electronics, lockpicking or cooking!
